Destinations : Delhi - Jodhpur - Jaisalmer - Bikaner - Jaipur - Ranthambhore -Bharatpur - Agra - Varanasi - Delhi
Day 01 : Arrival at Delhi
Company representatives will receive you on arrival at the international airport
in Delhi late in the evening. Transfer to your hotel. Relax. Overnight will
be at Delhi.
Delhi is just not a city but it is a book-- a book which narrates the history
of India. The city was built and destroyed seven times and has been witness
to the various events which has brought India through the history books. Seven
times this city went through the pain of being built and rebuilt.
Today as the capital of India Delhi is the seat of administration and the
monuments which tell the saga of a bygone era stand there. These icons are
testimony to the grandeur of past and also an attraction for the tourists.
With an area of 1483 sq. Kms, Delhi is all set to acquire full statehood.
The charm of Delhi has attracted Emperors, Conquerors and poor in equally.
It is correctly said that Delhi is a land of 'Dilwalas' or for people with
heart. This phrase acquires a true colour when one goes around the lanes of
Delhi.
Day 02 : Delhi
Breakfast will be at Delhi. Proceed for a full day tour of Old & New Delhi.
Enjoy the DANCES OF INDIA in the evening. Overnight will be at Delhi.
Day 03 : Delhi - Jodhpur
After breakfast you will be transferred to airport to take flight to Jodhpur.
You are received at Airport and transferred to the Hotel. Rest of the time
is for your leisure and exploring yourself. Overnight will be at hotel.
Day 04 : Jodhpur - Jaisalmer
In morning, after break-fast we drive to Jaisalmer and on arrival, check-in
at the hotel. Rest of the day will be free for independent activities. Over
Night will be at Hotel.
Rising from the Thar Desert like a golden mirage is the city of Jaisalmer. The Jaiselmer fort etched in yellow sandstone stands with all its awesome splendour. The life within the citadel conjures up images of medieval majesty visible in its narrow lanes strewn with magnificent palaces, havelies, temples and typical desert life of men women cattle and camels. The 80 meter high fort, perch on the hill, houses the entire township within its ramparts. It has enchanting narrow lanes dotted with exquisite havelis, beautifully sculptured Jain temples of the 12th-15th century and palaces. The fort is approached through four gateways -Akhaiya Pol, Ganesh Pol, Suraj Pol and Hava Pol. Some of the most exotic mansions or havelis, all intricately latticed, are strewn all over Jaisalmer each with a different facade. The Havelis of Nathmalji, Patwon and Salim Singh all in Yellow Marble of Jaisalmer are exquisite works of art. A camel safari through the interesting and remote desert villages of Roopsi, Doojasar, Kanoi, Kuldara and the Cenotaphs of Barabagh can be interesting. The villages are very special, as different communities inhabit them.
Day 05 : Jaisalmer
After a relaxed breakfast proceed for full day sightseeing tour of The Golden
City - Jaisalmer. It is in the heart of the Great Indian Desert. Its temple,
fort and palaces are all built of yellow stone. The city is a mass of intricately
carved buildings, facades and elaborate balconies. Visit the JAISALMER FORT
- The oldest living Fort in the world. Stay overnight at the Hotel.
Day 06 : Jaisalmer to Bikaner
Breakfast at the Hotel. Continue with the safari and reach Bikaner via NAGAUR.
Check in at hotel. Relax in the evening. Overnight will be at Bikaner.
Bikaner, the royal fortified city, with a timeless appeal in the North State of Rajasthan, retains the medieval splendour that pervades the city's lifestyle. More popularly called the camel country, the city is renowned for the best riding camels in the world. This city stands on a slightly raised ground and is circumscribed by a seven-km long embattled wall with five gates. The magnificent forts and palaces, in reddish-pink sandstone created with delicacy, bear testimony to its rich historical and architectural legacy. Undulating lanes, colourful bazaars and bright and cheerful folks make the visit Bikaner an interesting experience. Visit the Junagarh Fort, built in 1593 AD by Raj Rai Singh, one of the best in Rajasthan. It comprises of 37 palaces with pavilions, mosaic courtyards, carved balconies, kiosks and windows dotted all over the structure. The Shish Mahal, the Grand Durbar Hall, the 17th century Karan Mahal, Anup Mahal and the Phool Mahal bring to life the grandeur of a bygone era. The Fort museum has a rare collection of Sanskrit and Persian manuscripts and miniature painting.
Day 07 : Bikaner - Jaipur
Breakfast at hotel. Proceed for sightseeing tour of Bikaner. In time we drive
to jaipur and on arrival check in at hotel. Evening will be at your leisure.
Overnight will be at Jaipur.
Day 08 : Jaipur
Breakfast will be at hotel. Proceed for excursion to Amber Fort in the outskirts
of Jaipur. Elephant ride ascent to the fort. Overnight will be at Jaipur.
Jaipur, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan, is popularly known as the ' Pink
City ' because of the pink-coloured buildings in its old city. It sits on
a dry lake bed in a somewhat arid landscape, surrounded by barren hills surmounted
by forts and crenellated walls. This buzzing metropolis is certainly a place
of wild contrasts and a feast for the eyes. All through, Jaipur has retained
its strong Rajputana flavour tempered by several influences - the mughal being
the most prominent. The region's strong cultural heritage is distinctly evident
even today. The city is a visitor's delight. From the intricate, delicate
looking Hawa Mahal to the graphic forms of the Jantar Mantar - an open air
observatory of outsized astronomical instruments, the Badi Chaupar lined with
shops and business establishments on both sides to the majestic fort-palace
at Amber; from the colorful fountains of life to the sublime Birla Temple;
from the architectural delight of the City Palace to the serene Jal Mahal.
Day 09 : Jaipur - Ranthambhor.
Drive Morning one more drive deep into the park then drive to Ranthambhore
National Park, which is rich in wildlife including tiger, nilgai, jungle cat,
mugger and python. Night will be at jungle Lodge.
Day 10 : Ranthambhor.
Morning and afternoon take safaris in Ranthambhore. Overnight will be at Hotel.
Ranthambore National Park is in Sawai Madhopur District of Rajasthan state.
Located at the junction of the Aravalli and Vindhya hill range, this is one
of the finest places to view animals, especially as they are used to being
stared at here. The park covers an area of Approximately 400 sq Km and if
combined it with the area of sawai man singh sanctuary area, it is around
500 Sq km.
Ranthambore national park was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1957 and in
1974 it gained the protection of "Project Tiger". It got its status
of a National Park in 1981.
Day 11 : Ranthambhor - Bharatpur.
Drive from Ranthambhore to Bharatpur, one of the finest bird sanctuaries in
the world. The marshes here are home to over 360 species of birds including
the Siberian cranes that come to spend the winter here. Overnight will be
at Hotel.
One of the finest bird parks in the world, Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary (Keoladeo
Ghana National Park) is a reserve that offers protection to faunal species
as well. Nesting indigenous water- birds as well as migratory water birds
and waterside birds, this sanctuary is also inhabited by Sambar, Chital, Nilgai
and Boar
The major attractions of tourists visiting the park are the numerous migratory
birds, which come from as far away as Siberia and Central Asia and spend their
winters in Bharatpur, before returning to their breeding grounds. Migratory
birds at Bharatpur bird sanctuary include, several species of Cranes, Pelicans,
Geese, Ducks, Eagles, Hawks, Shanks, Stints, Wagtails, Warblers, Wheatears,
Flycatchers, Buntings, Larks and Pipits, etc
Day 12 : Bharatpur - Agra.
Today morning one shorter visits the sanctuary. Later in time drive to Fatehpur
Sikri, built by Akbar the Great Mughal emperor around 1570 A.D. This magnificent
city was abandoned soon after its creation, perhaps because of shortage of
drinking water. Late evening arrive Agra and transfer to hotel for night stay.
Agra is famous as the home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World -the Taj Mahal. The architectural splendor of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces in Agra is a vivid reminder of the opulence of the legendary Mughal Empire. Agra was their capital for nearly a hundred years from 1564. A pleasant town, with a comparatively easy pace, Agra is known for its superb inlay work on marble and soapstone by artisans who are hereditary craft persons. The city is also famous for its carpets, gold thread embroidery and leather shoes.
Day 13 : Agra - Varanasi
In early morning you will be transferred to airport to take flight to Varanasi.
Upon arrival at Varanasi, you will be met and transfer to hotel. Afternoon
have city sightseeing tour. Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities in the
world, believed to be founded 3000 years ago, is one of the 7 holiest cities
of Hindus. It was a flourishing trading centre 500 BC when the Buddha came
to Sarnath to preach his first sermon. A city is of great wealth and religious
importance when the Chinese traveler, Hiuen Tsang, visited it in the 7th century.
Visit the Vishwanath Golden Temple, the abode of great God Shiva, Bharat Mata
Temple, Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir and Banaras Hindu University. Overnight
will be at Varanasi.
The land of Varanasi (Kashi) has been the ultimate pilgrimage spot for Hindus for ages. Often referred to as Benares, Varanasi is the oldest living city in the world. These few lines by Mark Twain say it all: "Benaras is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend and looks twice as old as all of them put together". Hindus believe that one who is graced to die on the land of Varanasi would attain salvation and freedom from the cycle of birth and re-birth. Abode of Lord Shiva and Parvati, the origins of Varanasi are yet unknown. Ganges in Varanasi is believed to have the power to wash away the sins of mortals.
Day 14 : Varanasi
Early morning boat cruise on river Ganges. Thousands of pilgrims throng the
water's edge, bathing, worshipping and meditating. On stone platforms under
palm leaf umbrellas, the Pandas-Brahmin priests preside over rites and rituals.
The boat trip will cover various ghats including the cremation sites. Because
every pious Hindu believes that to die in Kashi (Varanasi) and to be cremated
on the banks of the Ganges is to attain release from the cycle of birth and
death. In afternoon visit Sarnath, 7 km from the city where Buddha preached
his first sermon more than 2500 years ago.
Day 15 : Varanasi - Delhi
In early morning you will be transferred to airport to take flight to Delhi.
Upon arrival at Delhi airport, you will be met and transfer to international
airport for onward destination.
