Delhi is just not a city but it is a book-- a book which narrates the history
of India. The city was built and destroyed seven times and has been witness
to the various events which has brought India through the history books. Seven
times this city went through the pain of being built and rebuilt.
Today as the capital of India Delhi is the seat of administration and the
monuments which tell the saga of a bygone era stand there. These icons are
testimony to the grandeur of past and also an attraction for the tourists.
With an area of 1483 sq. Kms, Delhi is all set to acquire full statehood.
The charm of Delhi has attracted Emperors, Conquerors and poor in equally.
It is correctly said that Delhi is a land of 'Dilwalas' or for people with
heart. This phrase acquires a true colour when one goes around the lanes of
Delhi.
Day 2 : Delhi
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a sightseeing tour of New and Old
Delhi Visit Humayun's Tomb, Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, India Gate,
Raj Ghat, and shop at Connaught Place. Return to the hotel for an overnight
stay in Delhi.
Day 3 : Delhi - Agra
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Agra. En route, visit the ruined fort
city of Fatehpur Sikri, and go on a heritage walk through its mosques, tombs,
palaces, and courts. On arrival in Agra, check in at the hotel and relax.
Take a stroll to the vibrant markets or have dinner at the hotel itself. And
if the moon is up, visit to Taj Mahal can be arranged on request. Overnight
stay will be at the hotel in Agra.
Agra is famous as the home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World -the Taj Mahal. The architectural splendor of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces in Agra is a vivid reminder of the opulence of the legendary Mughal Empire. Agra was their capital for nearly a hundred years from 1564. A pleasant town, with a comparatively easy pace, Agra is known for its superb inlay work on marble and soapstone by artisans who are hereditary craft persons. The city is also famous for its carpets, gold thread embroidery and leather shoes.
Day 4 : Agra
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a half day sightseeing tour of the
city built for lovers. Visit Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and its many palaces, mansions,
and museums, Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, and Akbar's Tomb at Sikandra. Overnight
stay will be at the hotel in Agra.
Day 5 : Agra - Jaipur
After breakfast at the hotel, travel to Jaipur, the pink city and capital
of Rajasthan. On arrival in Jaipur, check in at the hotel. The day is free
for you to spend at the leisure. Go shopping or stay back at the hotel and
enjoy the recreational fare that they have to offer. Overnight stay will be
at the hotel in Jaipur.
Jaipur, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan, is popularly known as the ' Pink City ' because of the pink-coloured buildings in its old city. It sits on a dry lake bed in a somewhat arid landscape, surrounded by barren hills surmounted by forts and crenellated walls. This buzzing metropolis is certainly a place of wild contrasts and a feast for the eyes. All through, Jaipur has retained its strong Rajputana flavour tempered by several influences - the mughal being the most prominent. The region's strong cultural heritage is distinctly evident even today. The city is a visitor's delight. From the intricate, delicate looking Hawa Mahal to the graphic forms of the Jantar Mantar - an open air observatory of outsized astronomical instruments, the Badi Chaupar lined with shops and business establishments on both sides to the majestic fort-palace at Amber; from the colorful fountains of life to the sublime Birla Temple; from the architectural delight of the City Palace to the serene Jal Mahal.
Day 6 : Jaipur
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a sightseeing tour of the Pink City
that includes visits to Amber Fort, City Palace and Museum, Jantar Mantar
Observatory, Hawa Mahal, and Birla Temple, Jaigarh Fort, and Nahargarh Fort.
Return to the hotel for overnight stay in Jaipur.
Day 7 : Jaipur - Pushkar
In the morning, dive to Pushkar. On arrival in the holy city that hosts the
annual cattle fair, check in at the tents and proceed for a sightseeing tour
of the Lord Brahma Temple and the Pushkar Lake. Return to the tents for an
overnight stay in Pushkar.
Day 8 : Pushkar - Jodhpur
Highlight: Leisure Activities
Today after breakfast you will drive to Jodhpur. On arrival in Jodhpur, check
in at the hotel and refresh. The rest of the day is free for you to spend
at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Jodhpur.
At the edge of the Thar Desert, the imperial city of Jodhpur echoes with tales of antiquity in the emptiness of the desert. The massive 15th century AD Mehrangarh Fort looms on the top of a rocky hill, soaring 125 mts. above the plains. A high wall encompasses the city -10 km long with 8 gates and innumerable bastions. The lifestyle in Jodhpur is unusually fascinating with people wearing lovely multi hued costumes, artistically designed. Shopping in Jodhpur bazaars is a heady experience with a colourful display of the rich collection of exquisite handicrafts. The tie-and-dye fabric, embroidered "jutis" or slippers in suede, camel skin, velvet and leather, beautiful silks, durries, marble souvenirs from Makrana, an extensive range of useful and decorative items etc., are of interest. The Mehrangarh fort is one of the most impressive and formidable structures. Invincible from the outside, the fort has four gates approached by a winding road. Within the fort are some magnificent palaces with marvellously carved panels with latticed windows These palaces house a fabulous collection of trappings of Indian royalty including a superb collection of palanquins, elephant howdahs, miniature paintings of various schools, musical instruments, costumes and furniture.
Day 9 : Jodhpur - Udaipur
Breakfast at hotel. Proceed for of Udaipur and on arrival cheek -in at hotel.
Later proceed for city tour of Udaipur, stopping first at City Palace. Here
you will marvel at rooms with mirrored walls and ivory doors, colored glass
windows and inlaid marble balconies and the Peacock Courtyard. Overnight will
be at Udaipur.
Udaipur, the city of Dawn, is the Jewel of Mewar -a kingdom ruled by the Sisodia Dynasty for 1200 years. Its kaleidoscope of fairy-tale palaces, lakes, temples, gardens and narrow lanes strewn with stalls, carry the flavour of a heroic past, epitomizing valour and chivalry. Their reflection of these building in the placid waters of the Lake Pichola is an enticing sight.
Day 10 : Udaipur
Morning, city tour of Udaipur - the romantic Lake City in Southern Rajasthan,
famous for the stunning white marble Palace built on an island in the Lake
Pichola. It was the former Palace of the Maharana and now converted to one
of the most glamorous hotels in India. The tour will cover the magnificent
City Palace, the Jagdish temple, the pleasure gardens and a drive around the
other nearby lakes.
Day 11 : Udaipur -Mumbai- Goa
Today, you will be escorted to the airport for your flight to Bombay where
you will arrive to connect to your flight for Goa. You will arrive at Goa
and check into the hotel to retire for the day.
Day 12 : Goa
Explore the North Goa & South Goa. Visit fishing village: Fishing villages
are part of Goa's rich cultural heritage. Local Goan fishing village is created
on the grounds of the hotel, forming a perfect backdrop for a charming evening
in a very rustic atmosphere. Artisans display their skills whilst the village
dancers whirl to the music of a local band. Overnight will be at hotel.
Goa : Variously known as "Pearl of the Orient" and a "Tourist Paradise", the state of Goa is located on the western coast of India in the coastal belt known as Konkan.Goa was liberated by the Indian Army from Portuguese colonisation on December 19, 1961 and became an Union Territory along with the enclaves of Daman and Diu. On May 30, 1987 Goa was conferred statehood and became the 25th state of the Indian Republic. All the communities have mutual respect towards one another and their secular outlook has given Goa a long and an unbroken tradition of religious harmony. The warm and tolerant nature of the Goans allows them to celebrate and enjoy the festivals of various religions such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Christmas, Easter and Id with equal enthusiasm. Besides the natural beauty, the fabulous beaches and sunshine, travelers to Goa love the laid-back, peaceful, warm and friendly nature of the Goan people. After all, more than anywhere else on planet earth, this is a place where people really know how to relax.
Day 13 : Goa
Free to relax on Beach. In the evening, enjoy Sea food Bar-be-cue on the beach
- Dine under a starlit sky on succulent lobsters, jumbo prawns and other local
seafood delicacies which form part of a delightful bar-be-cue set up on a
lovely stretch of the Goan beach. Guests may also cook their own food on skewers
over a camp fire. A local musician captures the magic of the moment on his
guitar strings. Overnight will be at hotel.
Day 14 : Goa - Mumbai/Delhi
After breakfast, you will be transferred to airport to board flight for Mumbai
or Delhi to board flight to home.
